Catch Up Part 2: Field Trips and Spring Soccer

Spring took FOREVER around here!  Once Christmas is over  April comes along I start looking forward to spring days and ditching my jacket.  Lets just say that this year my jacket didn't go on vacation until June...honestly, I think I was wearing my WINTER jacket into May!

We made the best of it though (we're from Wisconsin-we're tough!)  The boys played spring soccer and had a blast.  And they both went on some super fun field trips that Mom and little sister were able to tag along for the fun!

Logan's class went to the International Crane Foundation at the beginning of May.  I had a great time
hanging with this guy for the day!

It is so much fun to watch the learning that happens during these field trips.  Our school practices project based learning, and the field trips give the kids great context to what they've been studying (and a break from the classroom!)

Our local university has a great planetarium,  and Mason's class spent the morning attending a presentation.

Sweet boy!

I love the expression on his face here!  Mason's big field trip of the year was to the 1000 Islands Environmental Center.  Here the kiddos were able to wade in the shallow creek and try to catch crawfish and tadpoles.

This is how the soccer season starts...many many layers.  Actually this would have been a good week.  I always order their shirts so that we can squeeze a winter jacket under it!

There are the shorts!

Soccer keeps our spring busy, but it's worth it to see these guys having fun, and each year they make new friends!
